The party had been hosted by Ganja Pigs,  a cannabis edibles company. Police discovered a bag containing edibles and marijuana flower. Two of the party-goers were taken into custody for previous outstanding warrants.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said, “I don’t like that New Yorkers will have to call in reports… but it does have to happen. “If we don’t follow the rules, the elderly will suffer. We are supposed to love and honor them, but they will be in danger.”

Albania to Legalize Marijuana

legalize marijuana

Long regarded as one of Europe’s biggest illegal trafficking hub, Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama has just announced plans to legalize marijuana.

Legalize Marijuana and Kill the Black Market

Albania has been one of Europe’s leading producers of illegal weed. It is hoped that by legalizing it,  it will be the end of the black market and all that goes with it.

The country has been taking on the illegal market for years and this is seen as a natural progression. As Prime Minister Rami puts it,  “Illegal cultivation is completely under control. This is the third or fourth year of consolidation. We plan to pass the bill in this session of parliament.”

Missouri: Get Stoned Bill Rejected

get stoned

In one of the weirder stories of the week,  Missouri lawmakers have just voted down a bill for them all to get stoned. This would have required all “members of the Missouri House shall consume a substantial dose of medicinal marijuana prior to entering the chamber or voting on any legislation.”

The bill was intended to get members to focus properly on a focus on a healthcare bill,

State Rep. Andrew McDaniel Wanted Them to Get Stoned

The defeat was not unanimous either! McDaniel said, “It was for the real betterment of all Missourians if some people would chill out. The proposal came up for a voice vote this Thursday, and was soundly defeated, although a few legislators were bold enough to say “aye.”

Whilst it was all but tongue in cheek, it did have its serious side. The State Rep said that he proposed the bill to “get everyone to chill out and get a little chuckle.” In his opinion, other lawmakers were piling “a whole bunch of crap” amendments onto the bill, and he hoped his amendment would “get them all to pay attention” and “quit messing it up.”
